Getting the right part is the whole job. These platforms changed specification part way through production, and the same model year can carry two different belts, two different water pumps or two different gearbox specifications.
How we check
Send us the last seven characters of your VIN. You can put them in the order notes at checkout, or email them to info@atautoparts.co.uk with your order number. We check the part against the build record before anything is dispatched. If it is not right, we contact you before sending anything.
Where to find your VIN
- On your V5C registration document, in the box marked E.
- At the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side.
- Under the boot floor beside the spare wheel on many models.
Parts shared across the group
Where a part fits more than one badge, the listing says so. The platform, engine code and gearbox code decide the part, not the badge on the bonnet, so tell us the engine code and gearbox code if you have them. They are on the sticker in the service book or under the boot floor.
Belts, chains and single use bolts
Most of these engines are interference designs. If the belt or chain fails, the valves and pistons meet. We list the whole job, including the water pump, tensioner and idlers, because replacing the belt alone on a pump driven by that belt is false economy. Stretch bolts are single use and are included where the job needs them.
Coding
Some parts need coding or adaptation before they work, and the listing says which. We can code at our workshop, or supply what your own technician needs.
Emissions systems
We do not supply DPF or EGR removals, emissions deletes or defeat software, and we cannot code a car to ignore its emissions system. We sell the sensors, valves and filters that make the system work as it should.
